Tasting of Chilean Wines

ProChile’s Commercial Office in Washington D.C., helped organize a tasting of Chilean wines for an audience of approximately 80 people. The objective was to educate the participants on Chilean wines, which represent different specialized areas of this industry.

The event was carried out by Mr. Laurent Guinand, president of the company "GiraMondo Wine Ventures", who is recognized for its knowledge of wine in the region.  Mr. Laurent, began the event with a brief class, in which he brought into attention the world of the wines in Chile, since its beginnings, to current times, mentioning the regions, varieties and other prominent characteristics.  Afterwards, the participants proceeded to the tasting of red wines, which varietals consisted of Shiraz, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Carmenere and blends, as for the white wines, Chardonnay, Viognier and Sauvignon Blanc.

Besides the class on the Chilean wines, a variety of different food, services, tourism and country related brochures of Chile were handed out in order to promote the Country.
