ProChile’s Commercial Office in Washington D.C., helped organizing a professional tasting of Chilean wines for an audience of approximately 25 people. The objective was to educate the main members of the American-Chilean Chamber of Commerce in Washington DC, with Chilean wines.
This tasting was attended by special guests, such as the former Ambassador of the Clinton administration, James Jones, the president of the Camcham, Kellie Meiman of McLarty & Kissinger and other board members such as Nicocelli Ann Fisher from MetLife and Geraldine from the Foley Hoag LLP.
The event was hosted by the Chilean Ambassador to the US, Mariano Fernandez, who gave a brief history from the beginnings of the wine industry in our country until recent times, and made reference to the immense development that the industry has achieved. The Ambassador also proceeded to highlight a selection of wines specially chosen for the occasion by pointing out the key geographic features of our valleys in relation to their effect on the quality of the musts.
This was a significant initiative of the Chilean-American Chamber of Commerce because their members are representatives, local spokesmen and impartial to our country. They represent and bring great benefits in the field of business to the U.S.
