The Trade Commission of Chile in Los Angeles and The Port of Los Angeles, will hold the Seminar Evaluating the Impact and Prospects of the U.S. – Chilean FTA on California, after 4 Years of its entry into force with a focus on the California – Chile trade and economic relations.
The event will take place at The Tom Bradley Tower of The City Hall at 3:00 PM, followed by a dinner reception from 5:30 to 8:00 PM, organized by ProChile and The Port of Los Angeles. The invitees will have the opportunity to taste the most exquisite Chilean dishes that will be based on a menu designed for the occasion by a Chilean Chef . Mr. Ronald Bown (President of Asoex – The Chilean Exporters Association), Mr. Mateo Budinich (President of Amcham Chile), Mr. Garret Ashley (California Undersecretary for International Trade), Mr. Hernán Pitto (Former Partner and currently Of Counsel Custom & International Trade Ernst & Young Chile, Member of Law Firm Prieto y Cia), among others, will be sharing their views on the topics.
Since the US-Chile FTA was implemented on January 1, 2004, bilateral trade between Chile and the US has doubled reached over $17 billions in 2007. Chile is California's 26th largest export partner. In 2007, California exported more than $880 million to Chile including petroleum and coal products, computer and electronic products, machinery, and transportation equipment. California is one of the most important markets for Chilean produce, seafood and wine.
