ProChile in Washington DC, was invited by the Restaurants Association of the Metropolitan Washington (RAMW) to participate in the broadcast of the television program “Holly Live” of channel Fox 5 News, which was transmitted live during the segment of the news, first thing in the morning. The program was focused in promoting one of the areas’ most anticipated and glamorous evenings that celebrate and recognize the many extraordinary professionals that comprise the restaurant and associate membership of RAMW, “The RAMMYS”.
This activity was held at the Taberna del Alabardero, a renowned and distinguished local Spanish restaurant. The television broadcast was divided in 3 main segments. In the first one, Holly Morris interviewed Lynne Breaux, President of the RAMW in order to talk and inform the viewers about the RAMW and the Rammys Gala Awards. Then the Pastry Chef of the Year nominees were introduced and given a cooking challenge. During the second, Rising Culinary Stars were introduced and also given a cooking challenge in which all three nominees had to use pork tenderloin, avocados, peppers and Chilean products such as carica fruit, olive oil and merquen spice. The third segment, had a panel of four judges who had to choose one of the dished elaborated by the Rising Culinary Star nominees. For this section, Carlos Tudela, Trade Officer of the Trade Mission in Washington DC was asked to be one of the judges which gave the opportunity to mention Chilean products such as the wine, carina fruit and merquen spice.
