ProChile Chicago and Consulate of Chile invites Chicagoans to have the opportunity to experience unique Chilean meals during the second edition of the  Chilean Gastronomic Week—a week long promotion celebrating Chilean gourmet food products, cuisine and wines. Chilean Gastronomic Week will be held from Friday, May 21, through Friday, May 28, at Old Town's Dinotto Ristorante, 215 W. North Avenue. Throughout the week, the restaurant will feature a special Chilean menu (in addition to its traditional Italian fare) developed by Chilean chef  Katherine Medel and local chef Dino Lubbat. The Chilean chef  will travel to Chicago (from Wisconsin) for the week and prepare meals at  Dinotto Ristorante.

During the gastronomic week Chilean chef Katherine Medel,  will be also giving Chilean Cooking Demonstrations at the School of Culinary Arts of Kendall College, in coordination with chef Christopher Koetke, at Le Cordon Bleu Culinary School, in coordination with chef and VP Marshall Shafkowitz, and at the Culinary Arts School of St. Augustine College, in coordination with chef Rafael Perez.

This gastronomic  feast will spotlight Chile’s traditional gourmet ingredients such as the Mapuche spice blend Merken, extra virgin Chilean olive oils, Chilean Carica (a native Chilean fruit), Chilean seafood, Chilean salmon, Chilean light salts and top Chilean wines.
