The Chilean artist Maria Elena Etchepare will be showing her work at the exhibition "Contemporary International Artists" at the Jadite Gallery in New York.
Ms. Etchepare was born in Santiago, Chile, and has had numerous exhibitions both in Chile and abroad. Through her collages she tries to recreate the sophisticaded, sparkling feminine world as depicted publicly in the media. Yet, when faced with one of her paintings, one experiences a visual shock because those women seem to have a double personality, displaying at once a superficial showcase on the outside and an overwhelming amazement inside.
The exhibition will be open from March 3 through March 15 and there will be an opening reception on March 4 from 6 to 8 pm. The Jadite Gallery is located at 413 West 50th Street, New York.
