Chilean artist Monique Santander’s exhibition, “Inspiraciones abstractas de mi pais,” will be on display during the month of May at the Consulate General of Chile in New York. The opening reception held on Thursday, May 1, 2008 was a huge success.  ProChile sponsored this event with wines of Chile.

Ms. Santander was born in Santiago, Chile, and currently resides in both Manhattan and the beautiful Hamptons on Eastern Long Island. She primarily works out of the art studio in her home overlooking Aspatuck Creek in Westhampton Beach, New York. Her landscapes and abstract art is known internationally for its expression of color form and movement. Compositions originate from the union between order and chaos. They are absolutely fee and resist being defined in concrete reality.
