The Trade Office in Washington, DC, ProChile, was invited to participate in the 7th Annual Blue Jeans Ball, which was organized by the Capital Area Food Bank. This was generated thanks to the office’s network and by constantly showcasing Chile in the region. The participation in activities like the live television transmission of the Channel Fox 5 News and the Rammys, organized by the Restaurants Association of the Metropolitan Washington, during 2009, has created new opportunities for promotion of export and international diffusion, within the region.
The Blue Jeans Ball is a unique charitable event, for all the community, which invites and unites residents from the D.C. area, helping with funds and to learn a little more about the high level and presence of hunger that affects our neighbors of this region, contributing to part of the solution. This event is recognized for one of the most important charitable events in the area. During 2010, they are commemorating 30 years of helping people in risk of hunger in the community. The guests had the opportunity to participate in live and silent auctions, live entertainment and food and beverage tastings.
The activity was carried out at the Washington Marriott Wardman Park, to which more than 400 people attended, including the BOD (board of directors) of this organization and representatives of companies like Giant Food Inc., Safeway Inc., Sodexo Inc., Foundation Inc., Nestle USA, Retail Industry Leaders Association, representatives of restaurants, Chefs, Sommeliers, Culinary Institutions, specialized Press, among others related to the industry and the common purpose of charity.
